Hello all you lovely people,
I was kindly sent the Marc Jacobs Highliner Voxbox from Influenster to try. This is my first ever Voxbox, so I was very excited and extremely grateful to receive these products. If you haven’t heard about Influenster, it’s a great website that sends you products to test and review.
The products came in a simple black box with the words ‘Marc Jacobs Beauty’ written on the top. I loved the simple, classic packing. Inside the box were 2 highliners; shade 59 ‘Pink of Me‘ (RPP £20.00 6g) and shade 41 ‘Earthquake‘ (RPP £20.00 6g). You can find them for sale on the John Lewis website.
The formula of these highliners is advertised as being ‘gel eye crayon’ in a ‘bold matte formula, intensified by super-rich pigment’ and ‘glides on smoothly for precise application and sets in place for all-day, 12-hour wear’.
I tend to reach for a felt eyeliner pen or a gel eyeliner when I do my make up so it was nice to branch out and try something new. My first impression was that the gel formula is packed with colour and glides on seamlessly, which is great for the delicate eye area.
I fell in love with the packaging, the sleek sliver tube was beautiful and so simple. The highliners twist up so you don’t need to worry about sharpening them. However, if you find that the nib is getting a little blunt, there is a hidden removable sharpener at the end of the highliner.
The colour ‘Pink of Me’ is a pale pink colour which will be perfect for transitioning into spring and will really work well to brighten up your eyes when applied to your waterline. ‘Earthquake’ on the other hand was a deep dark brown colour which will be perfect for giving the extra sultry look needed for a smoky eye.
Have you tried these highliners? What did you think of them?
