November Birchbox x Vogue

I’ve recently subscribed to Birchbox, I’ve been umming and arring about it for a while so I decided to bite the bullet and try it out.

The November birch box is the Vogue edition which is super exciting. Inside every box you get a complimentary voucher for 6 issues of Vogue if you’re purchasing a one-year or two-year subscription!

If you don’t know how Birchbox works, you pay a monthly fee and get 5 products sent out to you. These may be full sized or sample sized and there will be a range of make up, skin-care, hair-care and so forth, depending on your beauty profile answers. They ask you questions regarding your hair, skin and your other interests to get a better idea of what products would be suitable.

Anyways, onto the contents of my first box.

Each Birchbox came with a mini sized Hoola, I love Hoola and I think the majority of the beauty community has tried it at some point. I’ve never actually purchased Hoola in it’s full size, I’ve always received it in sets and in the Benefit make-up palettes. It’s a matt bronzer and works for lots of skin tones. It’s buildable which is great as I like my bronzer on the darker side as i’ve got an olive complexion.

Next, I received the Birchbox brush cleaner which received 4 out of 5 stars on the Birchbox website so I’ve got high hopes for it! I’ve never actually tried a brush cleaner, I normally wash my brushes with my hands so it’ll be interesting to see how this works in comparison to that.

The third product I received was the Klorane Oat Milk Dry Shampoo (50ml) which was another mini sized product. It’s made with ‘softening oat milk extracts’ which helps to remove grease and helps volumizes your hair. Now I’m a fan of the batiste dry shampoo as I love the scent and I always choose the one that’s suitable for dark brown hair. I’m always a little sceptical that dry shampoo will leave a slight grey tinge to my hair. I think the smaller size is fab as it’s really handy for popping into my bag when I’m going away for the weekend.

The fourth product I received was the Percy and Reed Smoothed, Sealed and Sensational Volumising No Oil, Oil. I received the 30ml size which is a little small but you don’t need too much when you’re using it. I love hair oils and I am always keen to try them out as I’ve got such frizzy dry hair. When I  tried this the first thing I noticed was the smell, it smells really nice and fresh which is perfect for a hair oil. It left my hair silky which is just what I need. I’ll have to continue using it to see how I feel.

The last product I received was the Seche Vite Top Coat, this was a full sized product (13ml) which is always fantastic. I’ve tried this top coat before and it’s really good for making your nails shiny and helps to make your nail polish last that little bit longer! It’s also really nice when you don’t have any nail polish on and just want to give your nails a little bit of a shine!

image1.jpegI hope you enjoyed this post and if you’re looking at subscribing to Birchbox you should! It’s £10 a month with £2.95 postage each month so it’s definitely affordable. It’s brilliant if you want to try out new products and it introduces to brands that you might not have heard of! However, if you write a review of the box and the contents on their website you get free shipping on your next box and 2 mystery samples!!

Love,

Cally
